DescriptionA recipient of the 2012 Ipswich City Council Viva Cribb Bursary, for local history projects, Margaret Cook's "Learning By Doing" tells the history of the Ipswich Kindergarten since its opening in 1937. Hundreds of Ipswich pre-school children have had their first formal education experiences at the kindy, first in a church hall and then in the Milford Street building that continues to be the kindergarten's home. This book tells the story of the staff and committees who worked to provide the resources and education and the children who have learnt by doing.
