DescriptionThis heritage trail covers the areas around Limestone Hill, York Street, and Queen's Park.
Highlights of this trail include: Lion's Lookout, Naval Monument, Fiveways, Ipswich Girls' Grammar School, Dorrington, Chermside Road houses, York Street houses, (including Kyeewa, Limestone, Eastcourt, Roseneath, Merton), Glassey and Cunningham monuments, the limestone terrace, lime heap and lime kiln remains, former Central State School, Claremont, Milford Street houses, QCWA Rest Home and Hostel, Ulster Hotel, Colthup Home, Parkinson House, Bowerlea, Ipswich Kindergarten, Scout den, Army Depot.
At Queen's Park, the heritage trail takes in the Walter Burley Griffin Incinerator, animal enclosure, rotunda, the old curator's house, greenhouses and formal gardens, Bush Chapel, Bowls Clubhouse, Croquet Club, children's playground, and a number of trees, including grass trees, Jacarandas, Moreton Bay figs, pine trees, hoop pines, and Kaffir Plum.
