'To whom it may cocern,
I lived with my grandparents at 21 railway st. Booval and was told the property had something to do with a brewery in previous years, which was evident with a large amount of old time beer bottles dug up , and also a well in the side of the property, approx .time they lived there was from 1952 ? TO 1968 apx. Could you tell me the location at Booval the brewery was located.

'Thanks for commenting on our blog. It would appear that 21 Railway Street corresponds with the location of the old Booval Brewery.'

Booval Brewery

The Queenslander of 3 June 1898 reported that the Booval Brewery Company had been in business for six weeks under the management of Mr W. Chardon. The brewery was well situated and possessed a well of excellent quality spring water which was thought an advantage in the brewing of good beer. Capable of turning out forty hogsheads per week the brewery was already planning an extension to the building as the demand was by far exceeding what the brewery was able to supply.
