Description

DescriptionFrom left foreground, The Palais Royal Hotel, originally the home of George Thorn from 1859 to 1863. Joseph Rose's Emporium, local-made Pottery, Basketware, Tinware, and Wood(?). Rose's was also a draper. The business was established in 1884. The large building, Hudson's Chemist and the old Post Office, was demolished for the new one in 1899. The School of Arts building was built ca 1879.
