Mrs. W. Barrett came to Melbourne in 1853. She travelled with her husband to the Ballarat gold-fields, where they lived for approximately twelve years.
The Barrett's arrived in Ipswich in May 1864, where he secured employment at Seymour's Bremer Mills. They selected land in the Rosewood Scrub and settled in Glamorgan Vale.
Mr. Barrett died c.1886 and Mrs. Barrett died on 8 March 1912 at her daughter's home at Woodend, Ipswich.
