Reids Hardware

Reids Drive-In Hardware also known as Reids Heavy Hardware store was located in Bell Street.  It was originally Cribb and Foote Hardware (Bulk Stores), which was designed by the prominent Ipswich architect, George Brockwell Gill. In 1854 J.C. Foote became partner and Cribb & Foote was formed.

In 1972, Walter Reid & Co. acquired 91% of Cribb & Foote, the store originally founded in 1849 by Benjamin Cribb. 

In 1977 the store was renamed 'Reids'. This area would be demolished as part of the revitalisation of the Ipswich CBD in 1987.
