The garage was located at 16 John Street next door to the Queensland National Bank (then became National Bank of Australia). It was opened as Evans and Quirk in 1923 on land once owned by Mary Evans. The main section was built and owned by John Evans (father of Len and Ted), in 1923. The next section added in the late 1930s. It was all demolished and replaced in 1960. By July 1960 this was a hardware store.
