Ipswich City Council Administration Building, 1 Nicholas Street

Designed by Buchan and constructed by Hutchinson Builders, the new Ipswich City Council administration building at 1 Nicholas Street in the heart of the CBD officially opened on 28 June 2021. DMA Engineers were engaged to complete the Electrical design for the the administration building, the library, upgrading the basement carpark, interactive water features and the plaza.

Level one of 1 Nicholas Street includes three meeting rooms available for public booking, along with two large event and conference spaces for use by community groups and the broader public, as well as a formal event space.

Located on level eight, the new Council Chambers offer a larger capacity than the previous venue, accommodating up to 70 attendees.
