M. O. Kennedy identified 11 houses on Demark Hill that were constructed prior to 1920. Of these 27 had been demolished, 9 could not be positively dated through Rate Books searches. The remaining 75 houses became his study sample.
15 houses were identified by Kennedy in Murphy Street as having been constructed prior to 1920.
