North Ipswich Reserve

In December 1864 an advertisement appeared in the Queensland Times advertising the sale of 40 cheap building sites that faced the Reserve for Public Recreation. It was known as the North Ipswich Reserve by June 1870, when the local newspaper reported on the Ipswich Grammar School match against the Ipswich Football Club on the site.

In August 1878 the local newspaper referred to the site as the 'Recreation Reserve, North Ipswich'. The following year, the tender of J. Murtagh was accepted to fence in the 'North Ipswich Reserve'.

Ipswich City Council were appointed to be the trustee of the 'North Ipswich Cricket Reserve' by the Department of Lands in 1943. Two years later, the Council proposed spending £325 on works to the grounds.
