Rosewood Library, Ipswich Libraries (2020- )

Rosewood Library officially opened to the public on Monday 27th July, 2020.

It is the first public library to operate in Rosewood and is a dedicated two-storey, open plan space with a heritage-style building façade. The library features bookable spaces, computer and printing facilities, a local history room, maker space and a Council Connect booth for Ipswich City Council payments, registrations and enquiries.

Construction began in mid 2019 and was completed in early 2020. The building and façade were designed with the made in e existing character of John Street, Rosewood. 

The library opened with a collection of approximately 27,000 items including books, dvds and magazines.

The library cost an estimated $8.8 million dollars, $2.7 million of which came as via the Queensland state government's Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program 2017-19. It was officially opened by Local Government Minister Stirling Hinchliffe and Mayor Teresa Harding at a preview event on Saturday 25th July 2020.
