Brodie's opened in 1967 and specialised in school stationery.
The building was described, in the Ipswich Heritage Study (1992), as
a small single storey shop front with a rendered horizontal parapet raised above a pitched roof, decorated in classical detail including a pierced circular 'chain' motif between pedestals surmounted by fluted spherical urns at the ends. The earlier awning has been replaced by a suspended metal awning and little original detail remains below that, externally or internally.
