Description
DescriptionThe house was built for a Scottish miner, Robert Archibald, who emigrated to Queensland in 1865 and became manager of the Old Tivoli Pit Mine. Archibald died in 1890 and it is thought that members of his family continued to live at Tyneholme until 1904. For the next six years the house was occupied by the Bytheways whose daughter Josie gained fame as an international singer. Today a relocated church stands on the south-western side of the house. This church originated in Goodna then to Redbank then to this site. References (offline)For more information on the site, the mines and the church see the Ipswich City Council 'Heritage Study'
