On the 3rd of February 1879 the Fassifern Provisional School was established. In 1879 the name of the school was changed to Englesburg State School, with the facility being housed the Baptist Church, Kalbar. In 1885 the school was moved to Edward Street, Kalbar close to where the Engles Memorial is now situated. In 1955 the school was moved to George Street, Kalbar and work was completed to ensure it was meeting the modern teaching standards of Queensland.
