Henry Tanks

Henry Tanks alias Henry Duffy, alias Harry the Boy, alias John May, alias Henry Higgins along with Jeremiah Cullen was indicted for stealing a mare in March 1854. The jury found both men guilty on two charges of horse stealing and were sentenced to hard labour on the road for three years on the first information, and three years' hard labour on the roads on the second. The second sentence to start at the end of the first sentence.

Little is known of Henry Tanks. A letter to the Colonial Secretary in 1857 states that Henry was 24 years old at that time. He received his ticket of leave for Ipswich in 1857, but it is not known if he came here, received a change to his ticket of leave for another district or disappeared.
