Jone Sing boarded a train which was travelling from Toowoomba to Brisbane, having purchased a return ticket to Rosewood. He stood on the verandah of the carriage and as the train traversed the Six-mile Bridge, he was seen jumping off the train, which led to his death.

Jone Sing had been a gardener at Rosewood for approximately nine months before his death and his business was said to be 'pretty good.'
