DescriptionAt age 17, Debra Wallis (nee Bull) was hired by Booval Fair centre manager Harvey to play the Easter Bunny at Big W Booval. She was originally employed by Booval Fair Vitality Health Foods under Ted Anskey as an health equipment demonstrator.
Debra recalled that the suit was terrifying to the children, likening her appearance to being as frightening as the horror film 'The Exorcist', and that older children treated her with caution while almost all of the small children who saw her would begin to cry in fear.
Regarding the practicality of the suit, Debra stated that she required an assistant to carry the basket of Easter Eggs as the bunny suit paws being too clumsy to do it herself. Though, due to the scariness of her appearance, Debra explained that the mothers of the children were more often the recipients of the free eggs than the children themselves.
This image was used to promote children visiting the Easter Bunny at Big W.
