Charlie was a member of the Salvation Army and was a member of the Salvation Army Band in the early 1900s.
His engagement to Martha Mallacola of Brisbane was announced on 19 June 1919 and the wedding was held the following Saturday at the Salvation Army Hall in Nicholas Street.
Funeral Notices in the Queensland Times on 10 October 1934, advised readers that the funeral would leave from the Citadel in South Street. Friends, Soldiers of the Salvation Army and the Salvation Army Band members were invited to attend the funeral.
