Fen Jong

The Week reported on 24 August 1894 on Fen Jong's Disaster:

A Chinaman named Feu Jong, who gives his ago as 71 years, a shepherd by occupation, had been visiting some of his countrymen in the vicinity of Chinaman's gully, Ipswich, and was on his way home about 8 o'clock on Thursday night, taking his route across the railway bridge which spans the gully. He was proceeding along the bridge, when by some means he missed his fooling and fell to the ground, a distance of between 20 and 30 feet. At the hospital it was found that the left thighbone was completely smashed close to the hip joint, and that Fen Jong was other-wise severely contused about the body.
