Ah Lan
In February 1909, Ah Lan (alias Charlie Allen) was charged for being in possession of opium. Ah Lan had been a resident of Ipswich for five years and at the time that he was arrested he had travelled back from a trip to Brisbane. He was fined £5 and given a warning that if was arrested again for possession of opium that he would be given a 12 month gaol sentence.
