Little Ipswich Police Station
A reserve of two roods (0.5 acres) was proclaimed at Little Ipswich for police purposes in 1886 and the Police Station opened the following year.
Constable 1st Class, Thomas Demsey/Dempster was stationed at Little Ipswich from 21 October 1895 to late1905, when he was transferred to Redcliffe. He was born in Dalbeattie in Scotland in 1858 and he joined the police force in Newcastle-on-Tyne in England where he worked for nine years before he resigned and immigrated to Australia. He joined the Queensland Police Force and for twenty-five years he served at a number of stations including his posting at the Little Ipswich Police Station in the role of Constable. He retired c.1912 and moved to Thulimbah. Thomas died on 27 November 1932 at Stanthorpe.
