AddBy: Kaye Mobsby9th Aug 2022 1:05PMAccording to a newspaper article the mansion became derelict but given a new lease on life when Villa Maria opened in Ipswich on June 15, 1950 by the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration as an aged care facility for women after the second World War. The following paragraph states: "The mansion was demolished in 1970 to make way for a new aged care complex which opened in 1974 and in 1997 the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration left the Convent, which was purchased by the parish."
