John Walton
Description
GenderMaleLife Story
John Walton appeared before the court for assaulting Michael McKinner. The Moreton Bay Courier reported on 11 December 1847:
It appeared from the evidence that the parties were in the employ of Mr. Scott, and that the defendant threatened the life of the complainant on the 27th ult., and subsequently assaulted him in consequence of his having informed Mr. Bigge he was in the constant habit of sly-grog selling. There being no corroborative evidence with respect to the last charge, the Bench cautioned the defendant against selling spirits without a license, and bound him over to keep the peace towards the complainant, himself in ten pounds, and two sureties of five pounds each.
