DescriptionBorn at Ipswich in 1880, Ernie was the eldest of George and Ruth Wyman’s 4 children. His parents were English, each immigrating as children with their families in 1856 and 1865, and settling in the Ipswich and Laidley districts. In 1883 his parents moved their young family to Laidley, where George established a prosperous general store business and in 1902 became the first Mayor of Laidley Town Council.
Ernie worked in the family business and was a popular member and organist of the St Saviour’s Anglican Church community. He died aged 40 after a long illness.References (online)'Late Mr. E.G.
