DescriptionFrancis James Kendall (Ken) Wheeler (1901 – 1973) was a member of the Wheeler family of Ipswich. He was the son of Dr James Atkin Wheeler (1861-1939).
Ken was a jackaroo, a person who acts as a deputy to a sheep or cattle station manager in order to gain experience to become a station manager or owner.
Ken was a member of the Mahrigong District Branch of the Graziers' Association of Central and Northern Queensland and acted as secretary.
By 1954, Ken was the manager of Mahrigong sheep station. Mahrigong homestead is close to Rose Creek, halfway between Muttaburra and Winton, and is about 1100km west-northwest of Brisbane.
