DescriptionUnidentified group of people on the punt crossing the Bremer River at Basin Pocket. The service ran between Basin Pocket and North Ipswich. The ferry began in the late 1800s by William Lawrence. He built two punts and constructed a jetty on the eastern side of the river. Railway workers, school children, and women who wanted to do their shopping at North Ipswich used the ferry. When the hyacinth was bad William placed two cable across the river to hold it back.
