History

To celebrate Ipswich's 2022 Galvanized - A Festival of Heritage, Picture Ipswich has invited representatives from the Ipswich history community to become Picture Ipswich Guest Curators.

Our Picture Ipswich Guest Curators have had the difficult task of narrowing down a collection that currently numbers over 15,000 images, 1,000+ histories, over 110 audio and video assets and so much more. To find only six images that represent Ipswich to them from thousands is no easy feat.

The collections our Guest Curators have compiled are diverse. They reflect the interests and areas of local knowledge of our Guest Curators and provide a little insight into what they value and consider as important to Ipswich's story - the selections might surprise you.
