Description
DescriptionHistorical plaque placed by Ipswich City Council in front of home reads: 'This house was built by Arthur Foote who founded Foote's joinery business in Ipswich in 1895. The exact date of construction is not know but it appears it was built in the late 1890s or early 1900s. The house reflects the joinery skills of its owner in both its exterior and interior detail. Foote is believed to have engaged his workers on the interior of his own home, during quiet business periods. Loftus Foote took over and expanded the family business after the death of this father. He and his wife lived in the family home and they added a large room at the rear of the house and enclosed some verandah sections to create extra living rooms. In 2007, the house was named 'Baile More' after a small town in Country wicklow where Arthur Foote was born.'
