2006 Design, Heritage, Environment and Student Awards

The fifteenth annual Design, Heritage, Environment and Student Awards was held on 15 June 2006 at the Brookwater Gold Club. The Master of Ceremonies was Ashleigh Mac and the Guest Presenter was David Eades, Chairperson of the Queensland Heritage Council.

• Overall Heritage Award for Excellence: for ‘The University of Queensland Boilerhouse Community Engagement Centre' - Suters Architects and The University of Queensland Ipswich Campus 
• Overall Environment Award for Excellence: ‘The Purga Creekside Revegetation Project’ - James and Patricia Ledwith
• Overall Student Award for Excellence: project ‘Multifunction Restaurant – Architectural Design' - The Year 12 Graphics Class of 2005 from Ipswich Girls Grammar School

• A Gold Award was presented to Butterfield Projects and Husband + Leith Architects P/L for ‘The Ipswich International Hotel’
• A Gold Award was presented to Project Services – QLD Department of Public Works for ‘The Garden & Milford Street Housing Projects’
• A Silver Award was presented to Llewellyn Motors & Buchanan Architects for ‘The Llewellyn Subaru Vehicle Showroom at Booval'
• A Silver Award was presented to Facilities Branch – Ipswich City  Council for ‘the new timber deck on d’arcy Doyle Place’
• A Silver Award was presented to Willis Greenhalg Architects for ‘The Ipswich Medical Precinct’

Heritage Awards

• A Gold Award was presented to Llewellyn Motors & Buchanan Architects for ‘Llewellyn Toyota – Adaptive Reuse of the former Mines Rescue site at Booval
