Description1 Deebing Street, Ipswich. Previously known as 'Caloola'. John Macfarlane, a former Ipswich mayor and State parliamentarian, bought the land in 1887. He established a drapery business in Ipswich. This timber house is set high on Denmark Hill, on a steeply sloping block. The view down Clay Street takes in characteristic house forms set amongst trees.
