Mayoral Robes
The Queensland Woollen Manufacturing Company was undertaking finishing touches on the Mayoral Robe in March 1907. It was:
References (online)Mayoral Robe“made of rich corded silk, lined with white satin, with scarlet piping on the front edges, and trimmed with the best quality of the celebrated chinchilla fur and silk velvet. The collar of white Maltese lace makes an exquisite finish. A new departure has been made in the working of this year’s robe, in that an under-jacket has been made for the purpose of relieving the white lace. The robe is certainly a very handsome one, and is another evidence of the excellent work that can be produced at the company’s establishment.”
