DescriptionMain building at 164 Brisbane Street, South East Queensland Electricity Board (SEQEB), was the Ipswich Electric Supply Company Limited created in 1917. It would provide electricity to Ipswich and environs. In May 1919 power poles were erected in the city area. The Queensland Times building was the first business to install an electric motor on 22 September 1919.
