2015 Design, Heritage, Environment and Student Awards

The twenty-fourth Annual Awards for Excellence in Design, Heritage, Environment and Student categories was held on 13 October 2015 at the Ipswich Civic Hall. The guest speaker was Brendan Nelson, Consulting Principal with MWH Global - Brisbane and National President of the Planning Institute of Australia, who also presented the awards. The Master of Ceremonies was Ashleigh Mac.

The Overall Award winners were:

• Overall Heritage Award for Excellence: "Buttonsville"
• Overall Design Award for Excellence: "Ipswich Cardiac Centre" - Gibson Architects Pty Ltd and Heart Block Property Trust
• Overall Environment Award for Excellence: "Improving Land Use Practices in the Black Snake Creek Catchment" - West Moreton Landcare and Steve and Helen Foote
• Overall Student Award for Excellence: "Hail IGS - Their Name Liveth Forever" - Kate Pitty and the Middle and Senior School students,  Ipswich Grammar School

Amex Design Awards

• A Gold Award was presented to The University of Southern Queensland, Tracey Brunstrom and Hammond Pty Ltd, Badge Constructions, Mode Designs and Donald Cant Watts Corke for the "Education Gateways Building (EDGY)
• A Gold Award was presented to Kane Constructions, Conrad Gargett Architecture and Springfield Land Corporation for the "GE Building"
• A Gold Award was presented to Gibson Architects Pty Ltd and Heart Block Property Trust for the "Ipswich Cardiace Centre"
• A Silver Award was presented to the West Moreton Anglican College and Bickerton Masters Architecture for the "West Moreton Anglican College Middle School"
• A Silver Award was presented to Stockland Development Pty Ltd, Verge Landscape Architects and Interface Landscapes for "Sovereign Park"

• A Gold Award was presented to  Thirdson Construction for "17 Lennon Lane, North Ipswich"
• A Gold Award was presented for "Buttonsville"
• A Gold Award was presented to 4 Hearts Brewing Company, Gibson Architects Pty Ltd and CPM Group for "Pumpyard Bar and Brewery"
• A Gold Award was presented to Kate Pitty and the Ipswich Grammar School for the "Ipswich Grammar School Bringing the Past into the Present"
• A Silver Award was presented to James Long, Gibson Architects Pty Ltd and CPM Group for "88 Limestone Street"
• A Silver Award was presented to West Moreton Hospiutal and Health Service for "Cribb House", Chelmsford Avenue, Ipswich
• A Silver Award was presented to Queensland Heritage Restoration for "6 Park Street, Ipswich"

Ivan McDonald, Ipswich Heritage Adviser was inducted as the first Ipswich Heritage Ambassador

• A Gold Award was presented to the Cribb Street Childcare for "Cribbtopia"
• A Gold Award was presented to West Moreton Landcare and Steve and Helen Foote for "Improving Land Use Practices in the Black Snake Creek Catchment
