The twenty-first Annual Awards for Excellence in Design, Heritage, Environment and Student categories was held on Wednesday, 17 October 2012 at the Ipswich Civic Centre. The guest speaker was Ian Walker Mp, Assistant Minister for Planning Reform, who also presented the awards. The Master of Ceremonies was Ashleigh Mac.

- Overall Environment Award for Excellence: Powerlink Green Works, BoysTown and Ipswich City Council for 'Kholo Gardens Flood Recovery Project'
