George Williams was a building contractor who lived in Park Street, Ipswich, His son's Frank, Harry and George and grandsons Norman Vincent Williams, Hubert Vincent Williams and Lloyd Vincent were also builders. His brothers Robert and Charles Williams built Stonehouse at Moore.
George Williams worked on:
- Foundations of the Government Asylum at Goodna
- Foundations of the Government buildings at Sandy Gallop, c.1878
- F. Goleby & Sons building (brickwork), corner of Brisbane and Limestone Streets, 1895
- J. W. Reeds Furniture Warehouse, Brisbane Street (brickwork)
- Ipswich Technical College, Limestone Street
- 'Almondsbury House', 36 Park Street, West Ipswich, c.1873 (his family home)
- 'To-Me-Ree', 7 Macalister Street, West Ipswich, c.1910
- 15 Macalister Street, West Ipswich
George William also worked as foreman for Peter Brown and while working for him he helped to erect:
- Brynhyfryd
- North Star Hotel
- Some of the railway workshops
- Buildings at Goodna Asylum
