DescriptionSeries of unidentified family portraits taken by various Ipswich photographers from the Scanlon family Collection. Daniel Scanlon came to Brisbane in 1861 and worked on the Cressbrook station near Toolgoolwah. He married Mary Corcoran at Ipswich in 1864. Their eldest child, John Michael Scanlon was a railway guard on the Boonah Dugandan line and married Annie Martin in 1894, a coat and vest maker with Queensland Woollen Mills at North Ipswich. One of their children, Kathleen worked at Hancock Bros. as a veneer worker. Photographers included in the collection: H O William, Edward's Studio, Shelton Bros Studio, V Wicks, W Deazeley. These photographers were in Ipswich between 1893-1925 See this website for more information on each of these studios.
