DescriptionThis album is part of the collection of Gunner James John Wisely who moved to Ipswich in 1946. He served in the 2/6 Field Regiment in the Middle East and Borneo, during World War II. Images include the surrender of the Japanese on Balikpapan in July 1945, the 56th Battery in action, landing on Balikpapan from an LST 160 and postcards of Egypt. The descriptions on the images are directly from the individual photographs.
