Description
DescriptionThe area at 17 River Road has been used as a boiling-down works, a major meat canning business and meat freezing works. In 1934 it became the Morris Woollen Mills. John Morris began the Ipswich Woollen Mill in 1911 in East Ipswich, the mill was destroyed by fire and he started the Redbank Mill in 1934 from buildings which had previously been the Redbank Meat Works. The family owned the operation until June 1980, and it would then become Sunrock Wool Pty Ltd. At the time of the Study, Sunrock had just closed.
