DescriptionImages of houses between Nos 8 and 21 Murphy Street. Brickstone, on the corner of Murphy and Roderick Streets, at No 11, was believed to have been built in the early 1860s for James Kirby Swan. In 1875 the house was bought by William Hancock, a well known building contractor in Ipswich who, was involved in the building of Rockton, Booval House. He also built and operated the first lime-kiln on Limestone Hill Nos 13 and 15 are thought to have been built by William Hancock. References (offline)Ipswich City Council 'Heritage Study, 1992'
