Description

DescriptionBottom of postcard reads: Taylor's Series 7. For T. A. F. Darker, Brisbane Street, Ipswich. Benjamin Taylor or his brother, Horace, set up a studio in Ipswich from 1886 to 1888 with Arthur Mouland. Five years passed before Benjamin established a studio under his own name. The Christian Brothers Residence was opened by Archbishop Dunn on February 1892. Construction began in 1891 and was designed by architects Simkin and Ibler. The original building comprised of the central portion and the right-hand projection. The matching western projection [would be] added in 1928.
