DescriptionIpswich Girls' Grammar School opened in February 1892, with an enrolment of 37 students. Estelle Cribb was one of the first day pupils. After obtaining an Honours Diploma in Education, she was appointed Mathematical Mistress at Ipswich Girls' Grammar School in 1902. She obtained her degree of Master of Arts in Mathematics. She held the teaching position for 35 years until retiring in 1937. Estelle Cribb was an active member of the Ipswich Girls' Grammar Schools Old Girls' Association in which she served as President for 12 years. When she died on 5 November 1947, a memorial fund was established by the Old Girls Association, and in 1952, commemorative gates were unveiled at the front of the school.
