Description

DescriptionW H Bemi, printer, had his business in Ellenborough Street behind the Queensland Times building that is on the corner of Brisbane and Ellenborough Streets. In 1883 this was the building where F A Whitehead started his photographic business after taking over the Frisco Photo Company. Bemi took the building over from W Deas in 1888. Bemi was a printer in Ipswich until his death in 1934 when the business was then carried on by the family. During the late 1890s and early 1900s he published a free newspaper, 'The Bee'. Advertising signs for The Ipswich Dry Cleaners and Kriesler (radios) on side of building.
