DescriptionAftermath of Reid's fire, Bell Street, Ipswich, 1985. In 1972 Walter Reid & Co. acquired 91% of Cribb & Foote, the store originally founded in 1849 by Benjamin Cribb. In 1854 J.C. Foote became partner and Cribb & Foote was formed. In 1977 the store was renamed 'Reids'. The fire on 17 August 1985 completely destroyed the Brisbane Street store. This shows the back of the Bell Street frontage.
