DescriptionGeorge Stolz was stationed at Police Headquarters in East Street, Ipswich in the late 1950s. He was a police inspector of the Ipswich Police District. He is photographed in uniform in front of a timber building in the police compound prior to the second police headquarters being built next door. His family lived in the compound with him. George Henry Stolz served as a Private in the First World War in A Company, 41st Battalion from 28 December 1915 to May 1918. He was wounded in 1917 and discharged as a result of defective vision. After retiring from Queensland Police he drove a taxi in Ipswich.
