DescriptionLord Lamington commenced as Governor of Queensland in April 1896. In that year, F. A. Whitehead, from Ipswich, was invited to produce portraits of His Excellency and later, his wife, Mary, and child. Attending these commissions allowed Frank to use the crest and the words, "Under the Patronage of his Excellency the Governor" in his advertising.
