DescriptionThese students were riding to East Ipswich Hockey grounds to find out about playing Softball and were stopped by a Queensland Times’ photographer. They would form a team called the Rockets. From left: Glenda Pennell, Dot Pennell, Doreen Johnson, Pam Pennell, June Diamond, Merle Herman, Madge Johnson. In 1956 they won the B Grade Premiership. (Note: no bitumen on Whitehill Road).
