DescriptionPostcard-‘After the war’. One of a series of postcards sent to Mrs Olive Kippen of Ipswich, from Tom Cross, whilst serving in Europe during World War 1. Tom trained at, it is believed, H O Williams photographic studio in Ipswich. Olive Kippen, is also believed to have worked as a tinter at the studio. During WW1 he drew many postcards that he sold to the troops. Reverse reads: I hope you won’t be shocked at this one but it is typically Australian, so I cannot be held responsible. T.
