DescriptionThe Lands Office building was erected in East Street, on the site of the original market reserve, in 1878. Between Limestone and South Streets. It was demolished in the early hours of the morning on 26 February 1980 to make way for the new state government office block and courthouse. Sign on the left hand wall reads: Divisional Returning Officer for the Commonwealth Electoral Division of Moreton Office. Sign on the right reads: Labour Agent, Inspector of factories and shops.
