DescriptionDaughter of Henry and Anne Pope, Jane, came from Ilchester, Somersetshire, England in 1864 on the 'Queen of the South' with her husband William. They then came to Ipswich in the river steamer 'Ipswich' and resided at Sadlier's Pocket. Jane was a foundation member of St Thomas's Church of England and the mother of Albion Hayne (Town Clerk at the time of her death at 97 in 1924).
