Description

DescriptionThe original Greyhound buses started in Toowoomba in 1928. All coaches on the Toowoomba to Brisbane run stopped at Marburg for refreshments. The Marburg Hotel and Café provided the same and the town was known as the half way stop and the café, half way café. The buses adhered to a strict timetable so that scones were buttered and cups of tea ready as the travellers stepped off the buses. Delays were minimal. When a bus pulled in, the locals were expected to wait for service until passengers had been attended to. References (offline)Information from Rosewood Scrub Historical Society
